. - Jacob Burckhard, born 11/5/1932, in Rugby, North Dakota passed away Thanksgiving morning 11/27/2025, at his home in Camarillo. He had just recently celebrated his 93rd birthday. Judy Burckhard, born 9/11/1935, in Milwaukee, WI. She became ill the day after Thanksgiving, was hospitalized and passed eight days later on 12/5/2025.

Jacob and Judy were married for 68 years. They met while working at Allen-Bradley Co. in Milwaukee. They began dating in early October of 1956, were engaged 3 months later on Christmas Eve and married August 3, 1957. They lived in Wisconsin, Virginia and Florida before settling in Camarillo, CA in 1964. They resided in the same home for 62 years, raising their 10 children (7 girls and 3 boys). They were also blessed with 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Jacob was in the U.S. Navy and a very proud veteran. He graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. His career was as a civilian engineer at Port Hueneme Naval Base in Ventura County. He was an avid cyclist and after retiring Jacob became a very skilled wood worker. Jacob was a member of the St. Mary Magdalene church choir. During a 1993 choir trip to Italy, one of their most memorable highlights was performing for Pope John Paul II. Jacob and Judy were always very generous with family and friends, giving of their time and talents. They were very strong in their faith and spent time volunteering at the church they attended (both St. Mary Magdalene and Padre Serra). Judy was a homemaker, an excellent cook and she loved to crochet, making many beautiful blankets for her family members. She loved raising their children and helping take care of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever needed. She was funny, smart and beloved by all. She was always welcoming and kind to everyone she met. Together they enjoyed traveling. Mostly, they both loved spending time with family. They are survived by all of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They are greatly missed.

There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to our friends and neighbors who were there for us during this very sad time. The outpouring of prayers and support have been truly appreciated.
